Frequently asked questions
Before you start.
- Which key should we provide?
- An Admin key limited to the Usage (read) permission, not a production API key. It gives access to no content and cannot modify your organization.
- Can we see who consumes what?
- The OpenAI usage API exposes aggregates by day and by model, not by person. For individual attribution: the ChatGPT Enterprise connector (seats and activity per employee), or the optidome gateway in private beta.
- Is historical data imported?
- Yes: the first sync imports the history exposed by the OpenAI usage API, then updates run daily and automatically.
